Smith's come to Boone

Smith's came to boone and it was the perfect weekend, just gorgeous!! We did spend a lot of our time driving, hence not that many pictures, and my camera died when we were celebrating Austin's graduation.................Anyways.........you do see us watching Adam play ultimate frisbee out at valle crucis park. The girls played volleyball, looked for leaves and went down by the stream. The trees were vibrant-what a sight. They left Sunday afternoon-it went by too quickly, but we are glad they got to come and see where we live.

Carmel apples mean fall......

The leaves are starting to change and it's getting cooler outside... What better way to officially say it's fall than candy apples! Adam and I already ate two and they were delicious! I lit the pumpkin candle Blake gave me for Christmas last year to add to the yummy smells and it really did feel like fall. We also went on a bike ride up and down the mountain we're on which was tough! More so for me than Adam, ha! We got soaked because it was a rainy day, but it's always fun to be out in the rain when it doesn't matter if you get wet! To top off our fall day- We watched the cubs beat the brewers and of course some football, and had a cup of hot cho from where else but Panera! We missed both of our close friends this weekend who are on vacation at the beach. I'm glad they missed some wet days here!

Labor Day Weekend!

Well, we didn't get to go anywhere this weekend so we tried to make it the most fun we could here in Boone!!! Saturday morning we ran a 5k for the Christian coffee house in town. I ended up winning my age group which was a laugh. Adam and I just jogged for fun (which was still hard) and I ended up getting that sweet medal in the picture that has an American flag lanyard. We got some yummy breakfast after the race to congratulate ourselves and played catch outside because it was so beautiful. The second picture is the first night we went fishing on Saturday. We hiked out to a spot about half way around the lake and it just started pouring!!!! When we left our house it was hot and sunny, that's Boone for ya! Anyways.......it was well worth it after we got to see that incredible rainbow afterwards. We got lots of bits but they were just little fish!! Yesterday was Adam's birthday and we went fishing again at trout lake near our house. Adam practiced his fly fishing for next weekend when he goes home. He got a few bites and caught some more little ones. Where are all the big fish?!! We came home and had a bonfire and cooked brats! Today he is playing golf with some buddies and hopefully enjoying another day off!
