our new bed!

This is the frame and mattress we purchased on overstock.com. We were using the full sized mattress Adam grew up with for the past three years of marriage. Let's just say it's a little past due so this bed is a treat! It's a memory foam mattress which we love. You can't feel the other person move, but it does take some getting used to! Definitely no sinking in the middle. I LOVE going to bed at night now, which before I kind of hated. It was good timing with Adam's back and all! Continue to pray for him and that it will heal sooner than later.

I made the art on the walls by finding some pretty handkerchiefs and old frames(that I painted) at second hand stores in town. Now maybe for a nightstand? Ah so much for just one room!

3 Years!!

He brought these home after work for me! Same kind of flowers we had at our wedding, cute.

After we got home from going to see Inception( weird flick, but made you think), there were two baby deer sitting in the grass near our house. You could barely see their heads when they were sitting down. There was no momma around and they weren't really scared of us. Such a neat little miracle to experience. They couldn't have been more than a couple days old. :)

Love you Adam. So proud of you and everything you are. Wonder what life will be like 3 years from now? Didn't have a clue three years ago we would have the life we have now. Exciting!!

Fun colors!

Look at this strange moth I found on our house! It's pastel pink and yellow. Never seen anything like this before. Just thought it was fun!

Fire!!

We have a TON of broken branches laying around from this winter so we decided to have a bonfire last night and get rid of them. Plus this allowed me to make smores, of course! I love being outside till after 9 at night because it's just getting dark. Remember when it got dark before 5 this winter, what did we do at night? Yuck! Really enjoying how much easier and more fun this summer is!

A Good Day to be a Fisherman

Adam caught these beautiful brown trout a few weeks ago with a friend.

We, yes we, cleaned them and then enjoyed them for dinner. So yummy, they

tasted like salmon they were so fresh! He hopes to have more Saturday mornings

that are this great!

Fun in the Spring

We went down to Winston-Salem to see

John Gilmore play baseball and to have a night out of Boone!The third

picture is of some of my fifth graders this past week at our spring recitation.

They performed their memory work including bible verses, their history song

which is a timeline from early explorers to the year 1815, the Declaration of

Independence and the Preamble. It was fun to watch them shine; they've been working so hard!
We have one week of school left. I think we are all ready for summer break!

Memorable Christmas

We had a massive ice storm. I've never seen one

so intense. Luckily we only lost power for one day

while others lost theirs for up to five.

Here are a few pics us us in the dark(you can't tell because of

the flash) making breakfast over the fire, trying to melt

water to flush our toilet, and the sweet oil lamp

that our neighbors let us borrow. Hope this doesn't happen

again in our house in Boone because it was not

designed for this! With a fire it was 45 degrees inside!
