Yeah snow! We got about 14 inches of snow yesterday!

Ithink we even have more coming! That

is a lot when you live at the top of a mountain with no

one to plow you out! I miss our Iowa City driveway; well sorta.

I don't have to work today because I can't get there! Yeah!

We went sledding with our neighbor Julie and jumped off the sides

of big snow drifts to start our day! It's the perfect day for Adam

to be snowed in and work on his paper. We are on our last cup

of hot cho though. I didn't plan very well........... I'm finally getting

to read my two new books from Vicki. I just finished The Christmas

Jars-which was a great book! I'm about to start on the other. Thanks

again!

Fun times around Christmas!

We had fun at school today making Christmas

crafts in art! It didn't snow here today like it did in Iowa!

That would have been more appropriate for our

day than a sunny 55 degree one!

Joy to the World!

We had fun decorating our tree tonight! Adam did all

the hard work of putting it in the stand and trimming it, and

I got to put the lights on! He even made us hot cho...

Blake helped too in the background while we talked to him

on Skype. Miss everyone already back at home!

The past month...

These are some pictures of all the random fun

we've been having. We spent most of the fourth

with matt and alison and showing our patriotism.

Mimi is the little girl I teach in the picture with me.

We also spent a lot of our fourth with her and her family.

Cupps brought us a real Louisville slugger from their trip

to the factory. It has a cubs logo and and our name engraved.

It's really heavy......I can't believe they hit home runs with

those bats! The top picture is of our trip to Charlotte this past

weekend. We helped Dan and Christa move and got to have

fun(well, I did) spending a gift card i've had since our wedding!

I love the summer and being able to do a lot of fun things. We

are grateful to God for all the things we've been able to do

and for the friends and some family we' ve gotten to see!

FLOWERS!

Mom- I've been painting! I thought that would

make you proud that I'm actually using my skills

from college. I painted a few Georgia O' Keeffe flowers

for Adam to take with him to Africa for gifts. The

flowers on top are from him and I just thought they

were really pretty so I added them! Hope this inspires

you all to be creative!

Hiking Adventures

We went hiking today on a new road called Globe rd. It's a part

of NC we haven't explored yet! We found a snapping turtle on

the first path which Adam is holding and later in the leaves. We

also found a snail and some pretty butterflies! The last picture is

of the side of the hill that we had to climb down to get to the trail

at the bottom. You can barely see it, but it was worth getting down

to see some pretty waterfalls! It was a good day to go out exploring!

School Campout

Last night Mr. Bassett; another teacher from Grace, his wife tracy,

adam and I all took 8 kids camping behind a stream on one of the fifth

graders land. We played wiffleball, football, roasted hot dogs and malos,

learned how to set up tents, how to make a bridge to cross the stream and

told stories. It was a great time. I especailly enjoyed just hanging out with

the kids not in school where we could just have fun!!! Adam and I didn't spend

the night because he had to work today, but I think they were pretty crowded

the way it was!
